PWTAG has four full meetings a year (the June meeting is preceded by the AGM) plus many meetings where smaller groups direct research and publishing. The minutes of all meetings are confidential to members and advisers, but a slightly shorter Account is also produced of the four main meetings, for wider circulation within member organisations.

Group public protocol
There is  register of members’ interests, which informs the conduct of meetings. In general, members and technical advisers must restrict themselves, in public comment associated with the Group's work, to their specialist areas. In public statements about the Group's view, they must solely and accurately reflect what the Group has formally decided and what it has published. Where possible, such statements are to be approved by the chair. Where personal or commercial views are expressed, it is not implied that they represent the Group's position.
