2009/10 has been a busy year for the group. Our time has been dedicated mainly to the consolidation of PWTAG’s position and laying foundation stones for the future. To this end, an executive committee was formed to develop the group’s strategy and address mechanisms for the generation of income to ensure the group’s survival. This has resulted in the development and consolidation of PWTAG Ltd, the production of memorandum and articles of association and development of the membership scheme to enable all members to participate in an effective manner without compromising the position of their representative body.
A new prospectus is being formulated as an aid to promoting the group’s activities, and this will be published shortly. The executive committee has also been looking at mechanisms to provide long term financial stability to the group, given dwindling membership subscriptions. This has involved the development of the website to allow the sale of technical literature. Draft technical notes are being produced on salient topics. We are also looking at the production of smaller books for other markets, which will be based on the guidelines in our influential 2005 book, Swimming Pool Water.
We have also been progressing the launch of the international research forum which developed during the 2009 International Pool & Spa Conference. A list of 100 members has been created. The aim is to have the forum established on PWTAG’s website before next year’s conference in Portugal.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the current members for their work during the past year.
