Sandown hotel closes as high levels of Legionella bacterium found in pool and hot tubs

Swimming pool and spa facilities have been closed at Melville Hall Hotel and Utopia Spa in Sandown on the order of environmental health officers.

Fears were raised that guests could be exposed to Legionnaires’ disease and The Isle of Wight Council confirmed it had launched an investigation.
