PWTAG Conference 2025

Planning is well underway for our annual conference at Holywell Park, Loughborough on Thursday 6 November.

This year’s annual PWTAG conference “World Class Pool Water” will be face to face again and will take the form of a master class on the best practice to achieve optimal swimming pool water quality.  For the last afternoon session participants from educational establishments will also be able to join via the internet.

Nationally and internationally renowned speakers will share their wealth of knowledge and experience. Presentations will cover how our approaches to managing pool water chemistry, pH and disinfection control may need to be changed;  future approaches to water testing; do we need to change how we determine bather load; what can we learn from other European practices;  how do we design an energy efficient pool; how are microbiological standards for water derived and where are they going and how the health authorities investigate your facility if it is linked to an outbreak of disease?

The final session will be devoted to the use of temporary pools particularly for teaching swimming.  This session will open to participants from schools to join over the internet for a moderate fee.  They will be able to hear the viewpoints of Swim England and operators on the challenges and successes.  There will be a discussion of their installation, water treatment, monitoring  and how to manage the potential risks of infection.

Full details of the conference programme will shortly be available on the PWTAG website along with information on how to register as a participant or sponsor.
